Overview of the project
Context
Renovation of shared spaces in a high-density office tower hosting over 2,500 people. The project focused on redefining collective spaces within a vertical workplace environment.
Design strategy
Use of volume, light, and spatial sequencing to slow down movement, encourage informal encounters, and reintroduce non-productive time into the workday.
Spatial investigation
Redesign of the lobby as a symbolic and experiential threshold
Monumental staircase conceived as both circulation and social device
Library as an intermediate decompression space between work floors and the restaurant
Restaurant and garden as collective infrastructures within a dense vertical environment
Research questions
How can architectural thresholds mediate transitions between work, rest, and social life?
How can circulation spaces become places of pause and interaction?
Can shared interior spaces counteract alienation in corporate architecture?
